US Alpine Championships in Winter Park, Colorado ~ (877) 950-9444

In 2011, the US Alpine Championships will be held in Winter Park, Colorado, with such luminaries as Lindsey Vonn, Ted Ligety, Julia Manusco, and Andrew Weibrecht expected to compete.

Although Winter Park has held some early season technical races, not since the early 1990s have the Alpine Championships come to this great Colorado resort.

The following events are scheduled:
Thursday, March 31, 2011: Men’s Giant Slalom
Friday, April 1, 2011: Women’s Giant Slalom
Saturday, April 2, 2011: Men’s Super G / Women’s Super G
Sunday, April 3, 2011: Men’s Slalom / Women’s Slalom

Competitors will race down Hughes and Lower Hughes, finishing at the base of Winter Park Ski Resort. The tail end of these races will be visible from some units in the Zephyr Mountain Lodge, Winter Park’s best ski-in and ski-out location.
